David Bock Builders has been building in the Highlands-Cashiers area since 1998 and has delivered more than 300 homes to satisfied clients. We build everything from comfortable mountain cottages to the most challenging custom lodges. We provide expertise and quality while staying focused on delivering value.
Our team brings decades of residential construction experience to every project. We work closely with local architects and engineers and a team of experienced sub-contractors.
We consider ourselves to be professional builders. We take pride in the relationships we have with our customers, past and present. Many have become close friends, some even repeat clients and all are happy to provide a raving review. We want to make building your home a rewarding experience too.
Building a new home can be a challenging endeavor. Building a new home from 100’s of miles away can complicate the process. We understand this added stress and make communications a priority. We will be responsive to your concerns and regularly email photos and videos.
David Bock
David’s building career spans over 40 years. Beginning in his hometown of Atlanta, he grew that building company to 300 homes a year. After building his family home in Highlands 22 years ago, he realized this is where he wanted to continue his career.
David’s favorite part of the business is meeting new customers and helping create their vision of a home in the mountains.
David enjoys working alongside is wife of 32 years in joint building projects ranging from envisioning new designs from the ground up to renovating existing properties. They have 4 fabulous kids, living around the world, that have enjoyed spending fun family times in Highlands throughout their lives.
Rick Strauss
David & his partner, Rick Strauss, have over 60+ years of homebuilding experience. Rick joined David Bock Builders in 2015 after a successful homebuilding partnership in the Atlanta area and even as far back as 1996 when Rick first came to work with David as an assistant builder.
As the Construction Manager, Rick manages the day to day, on-site operations of construction, working with our project managers, trade partners, as well as working with the clients, designers, architects, & everything in between. Rick provides clients with modern solutions which satisfies todays homeowners needs. His experience provides a level of trust for clients which is uncompromising in both professionalism and craftsmanship.
Rick & his wife enjoy their life in Highlands & love when their son, a Lieutenant in the US Army gets to visit.
